GPS_VT_SDR: Receiver-Level GNSS Signal Processing Platform
archived-influentialGPS_VT_SDR is an open-source MATLAB software-defined receiver for studying GPS vector tracking and receiver-level signal processing. It supports comparison between vector tracking and conventional tracking, and provides a platform for testing baseband algorithms in urban and open-sky environments. Hosted on the NOAA National Geodetic Survey GPS Toolbox.
Why it matters. Many urban navigation failures begin before the pseudorange is formed. Receiver-level processing gives access to signal behavior, tracking quality, and uncertainty before the estimator and the integrity monitor see anything. GPS_VT_SDR is evidence that IPNL’s research stack reaches all the way down to baseband — a long-standing receiver-level expertise that complements the lab’s downstream factor-graph and integrity work.
Outputs: open MATLAB package, documentation, sample data, and a body of receiver-level publications including the open-source GPS spoofing generator (Meng, Hsu, Sensors 2019).
