talkPolyU hosts Prof. Peter Teunissen (November 2024)
PolyU IPNL hosted Prof. Peter Teunissen for a research visit at PolyU on 6 November 2024. Prof. Teunissen is among the most-cited researchers in GNSS / geodesy, originator of the LAMBDA (Least-squares AMBiguity Decorrelation Adjustment) method for integer ambiguity resolution — a foundational algorithm used in essentially every modern GNSS RTK / PPP receiver worldwide. He has held senior positions at Curtin University, Delft University of Technology, and various leading geodesy institutes.
The visit included joint presentations from the IPNL navigation group covering the lab’s research portfolio: factor-graph optimization for GNSS/INS integration, integrity-constrained estimation, 3D-mapping-aided GNSS, and machine-learning aided positioning under challenging urban-canyon conditions.
Hosting researchers of Prof. Teunissen’s stature reflects PolyU IPNL’s growing position in the global GNSS / navigation research community.
