talkION GNSS+ 2025 Salt Lake City + California (Google visit, Robotics Panel) — September 2025
In September 2025, Prof. Li-Ta Hsu attended the ION GNSS+ 2025 technical meeting in Salt Lake City — the Institute of Navigation’s flagship annual navigation conference. PolyU’s IPNL had multiple contributions at the event, including a panel-discussion slot on Satellite Navigation for Robotics and a technical presentation by PhD student Penghui Xu.
After Salt Lake City, the trip continued to California for a follow-up Google Research meeting and a Physical AI Meetup on Robotics, Smart Mobility & Edge AI Systems — where Prof. Hsu shared work on Absolute Localization in Cities — GNSS, LiDAR, Vision for Robotic Precision, bridging the lab’s urban-positioning research with the broader IEEE Robotics and Automation Society community.
The ION GNSS+ conference is widely regarded as the premier annual gathering for the global GNSS technical community, with hundreds of paper presentations across multiple parallel tracks each year.
